Selling a Cottage.
Selling a Cottage May Not Be a Typical Real Estate Transaction. You can carry on just like you are selling your home in the city,
however, the choices you make
can make a big difference on the time on the market and in the money you come away with
after the sale.
Have a look though
buying a cottage and see if
any items may stick out.
Are you unsure about any issues with the property?
Would you like to know if there are issues before you receive an offer.
This can be a
unpleasant surprise for you to have the purchaser find there is problems in their inspections.
Not minor problems, most
home inspectors
will come back with a long list of minor issues.
What you should be informed of are any major ones, even if you don't plan on fixing them at least you are aware. If you find that
there may be a problem with your
property lines...well,
they may need to be addressed anyway.

I want Your Property to Stand Out!
A buyer may just have driven for hours to come and look at your property and will probably be looking at
others.
Put on The Buyers Shoes!
When you're looking to buy new house, consider how you compare all that are on the market. The pricing,
location and how the home shows.
You pick apart defects in each home you see. This includes the furniture
and any clutter.
Take a walk around your cottage and property. Note anything you see that needs to
be repaired, cleaned up or removed.
Clean it up, dress it up, fix it, if you don't have time get a local handyman, de-personalize, remove all the personal
items all over the walls, fridge etc. Simpel things, clean up outside, the windows, fix the dock, fresh paint if needed.
If your furnature is old consider buying good used furnature to 'stage' the appearance.
You are in competition with other properties that may be hours away. Everything you
can do to make the first impression a good one counts!
